William Maddick was the first born in the United States on his paternal side. Growing up in Detroit, Michigan, he joined the US Navy as a deep sea diver. He was a well spoken intellectual known for his self proclaimed warped sense of humor. He is survived by his only daughter, Ava DeVera.
