Cremation costs can vary dramatically depending on level of services and location. Below, we outline a no-cost cremation service through Science Care, plus three additional options.
No-Cost Cremation with Body Donation to Science
When you are accepted as a body donor with our program, Science Care handles all of the expenses associated with the donation, including cremation. Remains not matched with our program are returned to the family within 3-5 weeks of donation.

Additional Cremation Options not Provided by Science Care
Cremation with Traditional Service
Pays for staff services, transfer fees, embalming, body preparation, funeral service, casket rental, vehicle rental, and cremation.
Typically the highest cost of cremation. Incorporates the benefits of both a traditional funeral service and cremation. Cremation is performed following the funeral services.
Cremation with Memorial Service
Typically more affordable than the cremation with traditional service option, as there is no casket and no embalming charges.
Cremated remains need not be present with this option. Cremation with a memorial service is another way to honor the memory of a loved one.
Cremation without Ceremony
After body donation to science (which includes cremation at no cost), this low-cost cremation option is the second most affordable.
This is also known as direct cremation. The body is cremated shortly after passing, without embalming, viewing, or visitation.
