Tribute

Timothy James Hiland passed away on September 2, 2024 at the Pottstown Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 70. Tim was born in Pottstown, PA and raised in Parkerford, PA. He was the oldest of 4 children. He spent most of his career as a welder. He loved to go hunting up in Tioga County and fishing down at the family creek. For many Christmases, he was one of Santa’s helpers, even growing out his beard to be as authentic as possible. He loved watching westerns (John Wayne movies were always a favorite) and Christmas movies (yes, he was one of those people that kept A Christmas Story on for the full 24 hours). He was an animal lover, always having a pet (sometimes many) by his side. He was a talker and would talk to anyone around him and was always willing to help a friend or neighbor. He was a member of the Stowe Brethren in Christ Church. He was a big coffee drinker, which he took black with a pinch of salt. He also loved collecting things - especially watches and hats. We all loved him very much and he will be missed.

Tim leaves behind 3 daughters: Tara (fiancee to Michael Moran) Demeter, Heather Hiland and Jean (Kurt) Ott (he loved telling people how each of his daughter’s names started with one of his initials); sister, Coleen (Donald) Schaeffer; 4 grandchildren: Zach, Alexis, Oliver and Mia; 1 great-grandchild, Tanner and another great-grandchild on the way and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Iona Hiland and siblings: Tom Hiland and Tami (Joel) McMillan.
