Tribute

Stephanie was an amazing wife, a dedicated, loving mother, and a loyal friend to many. A beautiful, fun-loving, honest, and sometimes outspoken woman, she was always the life of the party; however, she rarely insisted on being the center of it. Instead, Steph drew people into the party, making them feel seen and loved. Her energy, laughter, and passion for life were contagious, and she strove to make others' lives better in all she did. As a teacher, she brought lessons to life for young kids with humor and fun. As a massage therapist, she brought many people comfort and relief from pain. As an actor, she lightened hearts with humor as she taught life lessons. After she developed Stiff-Person Syndrome 14 years ago, she began struggling with pain and decreased movement, both of which steadily worsened over time. However, she did not let her circumstances change her desire to help others. Shortly before her death, Steph stated emphatically that she wanted to donate her body to science in the hope that it would help provide answers that could ease the suffering of others. Those of us who knew and loved Steph will miss all the joy and humor she brought to our lives, but we take comfort in knowing she is now home and pain-free.
