Shanon Leigh Vasbinder Blystone, 48, passed away unexpectedly and suddenly on February 15, 2025, in her home in Jamestown, PA, embraced by angels. Her radiant spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A 1995 graduate of Butler Senior High School in Butler, PA, Shanon lived a life characterized by her deep affection for her family and her passion for music. She held her family at the core of her being, cherishing every moment spent with them. Music, particularly the work of Hawaiian artist Mike Love, held a special place in her heart. Shanon was a devoted fan and friend, actively contributing to the artist’s community as the Administrator for the Love O’Hana Group fan page on Facebook. Shanon’s positive attitude and infectious smile brightened the lives of everyone she encountered. She had a remarkable ability to uplift those around her, leaving a lasting impression of warmth and kindness. In a final act of selflessness, Shanon donated her body to Science Care. Even in passing, her desire to help others continues, demonstrating her unwavering compassion and dedication to making a positive impact on the world.

Friends & Family

Shanon was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jason Clark Blystone Jr, half-brother, Stanley K Brown III, and her father, Larry Vasbinder. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her cherished daughters Falon Elizabeth Ann Blystone and Alaina (Lainey) Alohi Marie McCormick. She is also survived by her loving partner of many years, Jeremy McCormick, and his sons Nick and Aidan, who were also dear to her. Shanon’s memory will be forever held dear by her mother, Carlen Ann Vasbinder of Florida, and her step-sister, Heather Jo Brown of Pennsylvania. Great joy came from her five adoring grandchildren: Elizebeth (Lizzie) Vasbinder, Carlissia (Carly) Cozin, Elliana (Ellie) Cozin, Connor Marianna, and Adalea (Addie) Cozin. She treasured every moment spent with them, showering them with love and creating lasting memories.
