Naomi Jacques
Tribute
Naomi Ruth (Dove) Jacques, December 1931 – August 2024, Mom passed into eternity at 4:20 a.m. on August 17, surrounded by family. Through the night, as she was laboring through her final journey to Heaven, there was much laughter, tears, memories, worship, music, singing, and reading of Psalms, her favorite book of the Bible. She was held, comforted, and encouraged to make her journey. Due to progressing dementia, she had been a resident of Crossroads Assisted Living in Delta, Colorado for the past 3½ years, the last 1½ years in the Memory Care Center. For the duration of her time at Crossroads, she was surrounded by a loving, kind, engaged staff, who assisted her (and us) in her end-of-life journey. She was known for her laughter, quick wit, and, of course, her gift of piano. Our family was literally amazed at how many cared so deeply for her, many calling her “Mama” as has been the case over many years. Mom was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Angela Campbell, and her daughter-in-law Karen Campbell. She is survived by her six children, David Campbell, Patti (Paul) Jensvold, Debbie (Rick) Campbell, Brian (Jamie) Campbell, Jeep (Starr) Campbell and Teri (James) Bladen, grandchildren Katie Campbell, Amelia McGlade, Rachael Frye, Rickey Campbell, Lindy O’Connor, Kristy Lutz, Keri Campbell, April Florida, Ashley Colladay, Clint Bladen, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. If there was one consistency throughout Mom’s life, it was her great passion for generosity. Even in death, she was adamant to donate her body to science. There will be no service at this time. Subsequent to living a compromised life up to her salvation in the 70s, she had great empathy for those who made mistakes, who had lived ungodly lives, and she poured hope and encouragement into others, regardless of their path. She prayed all six of her children through to salvation, and taught me (and others) that when you forgive someone, you do so completely and never bring up the wrong again, “because that’s how Christ forgave us.” One of Mom’s great passions in the last five years is the Fire Bible. This ministry translates the Bible into all languages and is delivered throughout the world (the Great Commission). Brian, a pastor for 40+ years, and cousin, Jeff Dove, are intimately involved in this ministry. So many have asked what they can do for us. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to: https://firebible.org/legacy-giving/ Mom’s legacy will live through her children, her children’s children, and the lives she personally touched through her music and her love of people. Thank you for the outpouring of love to all of us. You have all been such an encouragement.
