Milette Crofts Chapman, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 58 in Parker, CO. Born on October 19, 1966, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Milette lived a life full of love, creativity, and dedication to her family and community. She was the cherished daughter of Deloy and Estella Crofts and the middle child of seven. Milette graduated from Mountain View High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 1991, followed by a master’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2017. Milette married the love of her life, David Roy Chapman, in 1991, and together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and service. She was a devoted mother to Skye Chapman (Incheon, South Korea), Joshua Chapman (married to Angelica Chapman, Greenfield, IN), and Spencer Chapman (Parker, CO). Her life was defined by her passion for learning, teaching, and creativity. She served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rome, Italy, an experience that shaped her deep love for people and culture. She worked as a social worker, ran her own painting and framing business, and ultimately found her calling as a teacher, where she touched countless lives. Her dedication to her students earned her the prestigious Teacher Apple Award nomination. Milette’s artistic spirit shone through her watercolor paintings, her love of books, and her joy in collecting rocks with her children. She found beauty in the simple things and made every moment meaningful. She is preceded in death by her father, John Deloy Crofts, and is survived by her mother, Estella Crofts (South Jordan, UT); her husband, David Chapman (Parker, CO); her children, Skye, Joshua (Angelica), and Spencer; her grandchildren, Adalynn and Vivian; and a large, loving extended family. Milette’s final days were spent in comfort, surrounded by love. Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, hospice staff, and the many friends and loved ones who supported her throughout her journey. Milette’s kindness, wisdom, and laughter will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
