Matthew was born on Friday, August 19, 1977, in Hobbs New Mexico to Manuel Y Martinez and Ofelia Veronica Salas Garza. Matthew was a member of the United Pentecostal Church (UPC) in Giddings, Texas, and was baptized in 2001 through Outcry In the Barrio Ministries in San Antonio, Texas. Matthew started his school years in Hobbs New Mexico at Southern Heights through 5th grade, Then he moved to Houston Texas with his family and started school in South Houston where he found his love for music. In 8th grade, he made his last move to Giddings, Texas, and graduated from Giddings High School on May 24, 1996. Mathew was a very spontaneous and daring person. He had many accomplishments in high school. Being the first male varsity cheerleader, and playing football for several years, he was also a Band member playing the piccolo, flute, and bassoon, he was the mascot for Giddings High School. He had phenomenal grades throughout his school years and had many friends. After High School Matt worked for Newman and Keng for a decade and then went to work for Walmart and became a manager at the Bastrop, Texas location. Matthew became a quadriplegic incomplete in 2015 Due to a car accident, even though he was limited in many physical ways he fought very hard through all of life’s trials. He lived life to the fullest day by day. He was headstrong and determined to walk and live. His smile was the best and his jokes made you cry from laughter. He was always a comedian and a realist. In his life, after His accident, he found his true friends and family. He always appreciated them, even when he didn't know how to show them. He would love to thank the family and friends who stayed by his side through it all. He was grateful for the many other family members and friends by his side. Matthew loved spending quality time with family and friends, he was known to be a night owl and partied hard, he loved music and dancing. He loved singing and making his nieces and nephews laugh with his many jokes. He also loved God, he loved worship and praise music along with watching Sunday sermons on TV. He will truly be missed!!!

He was preceded in death by his father Manuel Y Martinez and his mother Ofelia Salas Garza and Step Father Juan Antonio Garza ,His nephew Derek Marez, his brother-in-law Eddie Galindo, Paternal and Maternal grandparents.Also several uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Matthew is survived by six sisters and three brothers Manuel Martinez Jr. of Hobbs New Mexico, Malissa Galindo of Wink, TX, Maurice & Sonya Martinez of Hobbs, New Mexico, Monica & Cody Ransberger of Abilene, TX, Hortensia Palomo-Garza of Manor, TX, Joanie Garza & Vicente Segura Jr of Giddings, TX, David & Amy Garza of Giddings, TX, Mary & Cesar Jimenez of Austin, TX, Erma & Lane Morris of Austin, TX. His nieces and nephews Juan Jose Martinez, Elsa Marez, Andy & Amber Galindo, Adrian Galindo, Natalie & Rae Martinez, Guy Dill, David Dill & Meagan Ford, Juan Antonio Garza III, Noelia Garza & Cahim Nethero, Natasha Palomo her fiancé Paxton Leigh Howton(bestie), Vicente Segura III, Naudia Skyy Segura, Vanessa Gabriela Segura, David Garza, Destiny Garza, Devin and Tyler Williams, Logan Morris, Emma Jimenez, Kaitlyn and Johnny Montez, Dustyn Carleton, and many Great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, who were very loved.
