Mary Mohr
Tribute
Mary Louise Mohr, aged 95, passed away on November 15, 2024. Born in Dayton, Ohio, Mary lived a vibrant life marked by her love for adventure and her deep appreciation for the joys of family and travel. She was grateful for her extraordinary life and left with no regrets. As a military spouse, Mary enjoyed a series of adventures around the globe, visiting countries such as Russia, Egypt, Greece, China, and Turkey. Every military move was an opportunity for Mary to make new friends. She reminisced about the close-knit group they encountered at their first assignment in 1951 to Fairbanks, Alaska until the end. Her zest for life was contagious, and she was well known for hosting memorable parties with her late husband, William E. Mohr II, especially their highly anticipated Super Bowl celebrations. Upon their retirement, Mary opened a gift store in San Clemente, CA called the Country Store offering antiques, old-fashioned candies, and many treasures reflecting Mary’s personality. Afterward, she and Bill drove across the US twice before deciding to move to Arizona. Upon arrival, they embraced the new culture whole-heartedly including attending the American Lutheran Church where Mary had a warm relationship with Associate Pastor Lisa Hackler. Mary loved to golf, dance, play bridge, read the newspaper, visit with friends, and play along with Jeopardy from her living room.
