Julia Jean Marino (Laaker), born on August 22, 1962, in Sydney, Nebraska, lost her battle to cancer on March 31, 2025, in Longmont, Colorado. Julie’s life was marked by a deep appreciation for local theater and a special affection for her cats. Her love of theater brought her joy and inspiration throughout the years, reflecting a creative spirit that resonated with those who knew her. Whether attending performances or participating in local productions, Julie found meaning and connection through the stage. At home, she shared her life with beloved feline companions Ronan and Missy Mave, whose presence brought comfort and companionship. Julia was the cherished child of John Laaker and the late Joyce Laaker. She is lovingly remembered by her brothers Johnny (Kelly) and Joey (LaCleta) Laaker, her son Jason Norman (Jennifer), and her four grandsons. Each of these relationships held a special place in Julie’s heart.
