Tribute

Joe Luis was born on the island of Faial in the Azores. He immigrated to the United States with his mother at the age of 2. He was predominantly raised in the Santa Cruz area and lived with his father, his mother Anna, and his younger brother Larry. Most of his almost 50 yr. career was spent in the movie theater business. Over the years he had many movie theater families, but none more special to him than the Tocchini family theater chain that he spent nearly 30 years being a part of. His role in the company changed many times over the years , but the loyalty and friendships he acquired along the way remained strong until the very end. Dan, Amy, Neil, Sue, Mike, Gwen, Caleb, Giancarlo, Elisa, and I know several others were family and Joe cherished them all. Joe leaves behind 3 children Justin Luis 40 from his first marriage, Joshua Luis 27, and Cameron Luis 22 from his second marriage to Carol Luis, his brother Larry and his wife Vanessa their daughter Alyssa and her husband Winston, and their son Mace along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Family vacations to Disneyland, trips to the movies, and holidays with his family were some of his favorite things to do.
