Ginger Whitten
Tribute
Ginger Whitten, 63, of Lockhart, Texas, stepped into the arms of her Lord on August 24th, 2024. She passed peacefully in the hospital with loving family around after a long and brave battle with kidney failure complications. Ginger was born February 14th, 1961 in Chatanooga, Tennessee. The daughter of Lynn Wall and later adopted father Jim Deskin. Ginger grew up in Georgia, California, and Texas. Ginger married her soulmate, David Whitten on March 8th, 1992. Ginger worked in customer service for many years but truly loved working as a teacher’s aide with special needs children and felt it was very rewarding. Because of her love for her students, she pursued and received her degree in special education. Ginger loved to sing from an early age and performed in various venues and church choir competitions. She was also active in church as a Youth Director. Ginger had a gift of hospitality and a giving heart, always keeping her doors open taking in friends, or family whether it was just for dinner or a place to stay. Ginger was very outgoing and loved people. If she was standing in line with you at the grocery store, it wouldn’t be long before she started talking to you and you were telling her your life story. She left a lasting impression on everyone who met her. But most of all, Ginger loved her family. She kept every card or letter her children and family ever gave her! Memorial donations in Ginger’s memory may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation. https://www.kidney.org/
