Edna Mae Lancaster died peacefully on Thursday, December 5th, 2024. Her memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3rd, at 10:30 AM at St Cecilia Catholic Church, 11740 Joan of Arc Dr., Houston, TX, just off Bunker Hill and I10. Edna was a beautiful soul full of love and laughter and always had a word of wisdom or an inspirational poem to share. She was an extraordinary artist, focused on paintings of colorful landscapes and still lifes, stained glass windows, and embroidery. Some of her favorite memories were family trips to Colorado and celebrating holidays and summers at the lakehouse. She enjoyed her garden and playing tennis and golf with Chuck. She always loved her dogs, especially Lily. She devoted herself to growing her faith through bible studies. Edna spent her career as an honored and adored school teacher, working for Houston ISD for a few years before transferring to Spring Branch ISD, where she served over 35 years. She won many outstanding awards during that time, including runner-up for Teacher of the Year for the state of Texas. Edna was born in Benjamin, TX, near Knox City, to William and Rose Harper on November 2nd, 1935. She attended Western Texas University, where she met Charles Edward Lancaster, and they were married on July 3, 1955. They had two children, Kevin Charles Lancaster and Leslie Kay Lancaster. Kevin passed away in 2011, and Charles passed away in 2017. Edna and Charles were married for 62 years. Edna is survived by her daughter, Leslie Kay Nollsch, her husband, Dave, and their son, Travis Nollsch, and daughter, Jennifer Nollsch Allensworth. She is also survived by Kevin’s wife, Natalie Lancaster McCaskill, and their three children: Nicole Lancaster Freas, married to Brian, and their children Andrew, Emily, and William; Claire Lancaster McGhee, married to Jarred, and their children Charlotte and Camille; and Chris Kevin Lancaster and his husband, Andrew Wexler, Natalie is remarried to John W. McCaskill. Edna was one of many children. Her parents, William and Rose Harper, and other siblings, Linda, Billie, and Glenn, passed before her. She is survived by her brothers, Ted, and William (Bill), and her sister, Barbara, and many cousins.
