Tribute

Donald Neal Spohn 80, of Troy, TX passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, at his home after a long illness. The end-stage renal failure took his life. He was born October 4, 1943, in Temple, TX to William Norwood and Adela Alma (Grenwelge) Spohn of Troy. Donald graduated from Troy High School. He served in the Texas National Guard, was a farmer, and worked in construction at Carpenter Co. He was also a member of the Troy Volunteer Fire Department. He married Diane Elizabeth Marek on February 14, 1980. Donald is preceded in death by his wife, a brother Dwayne Spohn, and a sister Willa Dean Irish. Survivors include sons James Spohn of Temple, TX, Jason Spohn of Troy, TX, daughter Jennifer Spohn of Troy, TX, brother Larry Spohn of Temple, TX, and sister Barbara Spohn of Troy, TX. Donald designated his body to be donated to science. His hope was that they would find something that would help someone else someday.
