Tribute

David was born to Douglas E. Self and Doris J. Wilder in Dallas, TX on December 3rd, 1955. He joined the Navy in 1975 and worked as a Marine mechanic. He then worked as a bench tech for Physio-Control repairing EKG machines, defibrillators, and dialysis machines. He then worked at an up-and-coming company, Diasonics, and installed the first ultrasound equipment in Shreveport, LA. He went on to work on C-arms and then worked for TI. He worked in many other positions before finally retiring in 2020. On July 2, 1983, in Dudley, PA, he married Michele Berthold. They had 2 children, Adam and Amanda. On June 30, 2022, he became a proud grandfather of Hayden, who is one of his greatest joys.
