Tribute

What a special man he was! He and his wife, Sandy, were best friends for over 51 years. Dave had a great personality-so warm, friendly and outgoing. He never met a stranger; everyone loved and admired him. He was Uncle Dave to all of his nieces, nephews and other children he met. He was very active and enjoyed numerous activities which included snow and water skiing, hunting, golfing and fishing just to name a few. He was a devoted member of the Kindly Canines Therapy Dogs and took his labs Lucy and Raven to help children read, he put a smile on the faces of those he visited in various nursing homes and in the local VA Hospital. He was also an active member in two Lions Clubs: River Hills Lions (SC) & Chambersburg Noontime Lions (PA). He helped raise thousands of dollars for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a disease he contracted in the early 80’s. Dave was a devoted Christian and took communion to the shut-ins at Menno Haven. He was a lay minister in several of our churches as we moved around and performed the wedding of one of our precious nieces. Dave made a difference in the lives of many over the years. Now he is at peace in the arms of Jesus.
