Cathleen Groat
Tribute
Cathy curated her life to be a joy and LOVE-filled, inspiring experience. Her kind, generous, and thoughtful spirit was always bestowing gifts of love and happiness to those around her. From her always delicious homemade meals and baked goods, to her carefully selected treats for ALL occasions, and handmade clothing and costumes, her life was, in essence, a stream of gifts she lovingly bestowed as giving was her truest nature. Even in her transition, her loving spirit shone brightly for us all to bask in the rays of love and peace emanating from her. As she gracefully left her body she was able to gift us feelings of serenity and bliss, easing any concern about the transformation we all face from earthly life. She was the cornerstone of our family, always smiling, always there to lend a helping hand or caring ear to share all of life’s smallest and greatest moments. She had a gift of holding space, providing wisdom, comfort, and strength in times of need. Cathy was a natural caregiver, and her love for children was evident in the way she genuinely cared for all. Her spirit was generous and loving, as witnessed by all who knew her. From her years of creative dedication work and volunteering within the Nativity BVM school and church, to being a weekly donor of plasma and platelets to Roswell Park and Red Cross for 10+ years her self-less giving spirit shined a pure bright light that will be missed in many communities.
